Youth Arts Workshop Summer Program
July 5-August 12, 2011
Asian Arts Initiative offered six weeks of exciting FREE workshops in a vast array of artistic disciplines. Students worked on hip hop dance, guitar, creative writing, theater games, videograph, drawing, yoga, and mural painting! Students shared and celebrated their work on August 12 at the Youth Arts Workshop Summer 2011 Showcase!

One of the two murals that Youth enrolled in our Summer Youth Arts Workshop completed. This mural was led and designed by teaching artist Isaac Lin and is located at the Chinese Christian Church and Center at 10th and Spring streets.

Chinatown Youth Radio Philadelphia

July 28th - August 15th, 2008
Join Chinatown Youth Radio Philadelphia as they embark on their second session of ChYRP programming! Engaging young people with radio production, ChYRP seeks to inspire a new generation of student journalists to think more critically about their community and the world around them and to become more effective and informed leaders of tomorrow, while filling in the longstanding gap of mainstream media’s coverage of the Asian American community. http://chyrp.wordpress.com/

Youth-Produced Videos
View clippings of the videos produced by the teens involved in the Youth Arts Workshop. Most of these videos were produced as part of workshops which taught teens how to use video cameras and editing software, providing them access to another media to document their stories and the Philadelphia communities.
