Education

Education Programs at AAI provide a safe space for creative development for youth in Philadelphia.

Originated in 1998, Youth Arts Workshop (YAW) is one of AAI’s longest running programs, offering free year-round, summer and after-school programming for Middle School students to explore various arts projects and connect with a sense of community.

Building off of YAW, Youth Leadership Initiative (YLI) is AAI’s newest educational program for High School students that provides a next-level program to connect art learning with community building opportunities, project-based learning, civic engagement and career development skills.

Our Education Programs and professional teaching artists also provide arts education opportunities, community engagement workshops, and residencies for local nonprofit organizations, schools, community centers, summer camps and special events. AAI has partnered with arts and youth serving organizations such as CraftNOW, the Bruce Lee Foundation, The Franklin Institute, Albert M. Greenfield School, Children’s Village, The Rail Park and Franklin Square Park. To learn more about our community initiatives or to request a workshop, contact us at [email protected].
